Coach
In 2007, Blanca made the big decision to try out for the Houston Dynamo Girls. It was the perfect match for her since she had played soccer all of her life and loved to dance. Not knowing what to expect however, she decided to take dance classes to begin preparing her body.
She had no idea where to start when it came to working out, since running was all she knew. She tried gyms and boot camps, but felt as if something was still missing. Blanca tried Muay Thai for two years, but thought that the amount of cardio made her a little small for her liking. That was when I friend suggest CrossFit.
Even though she didn’t pick it up as quickly as some of her other endeavors, she immediately fell in love with CrossFit after her first training session. Having never lifted weights, she could barely move a 15lb bar when she started. Now, after years of CrossFit, she feels like she is in the best shape of her life…and owes it all to CrossFit.
After being around great coaches, she decided to get her Level 1 certification to become a coach as well. By this point she had been a captain for the Dynamo Girls, so it was only natural for her to have the squad do CrossFit too so becoming a CrossFit coach was a smooth and natural transition.
She continues to grow as a CrossFitter and as a coach, hoping to motivate as many people as possible in their fitness journey.
